Adult Therapist

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Provides direct mental health services to consumers as assigned and defined by the Counseling Utilization Review Process

RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other related field
  • Bachelor's degree may be suitable with a minimum of four (4) years' experience
  • Preference given to individuals who qualify as a mental health professional and/or as a mental health specialist
  • Must be eligible for registration as a counselor by the state of Washington and obtain registration prior to employment
  • Requirements may be waived at the time of employment
  • Must pass a criminal background and Inspector General check

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide quality mental health services to consumers as assigned by the Utilization Review Process
  • Completion of relevant required paperwork to standards set by agency policy, including quality and timeliness
  • Participation in required meetings, included but not limited to: Psychiatric consultation, supervision (as negotiated), and program meetings
  • Provide consultation and education to agencies and programs as directed
  • Perform public relations work and community education regarding mental health issues
  • Other duties as required and as are consistent with the goal of the position
