This is a part time internship delivering casework services to clients of BHR Harvest Home program.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Clinical Supervisor/Clinical Manager of Harvest Home
Be enrolled and actively participating in a university or college program for a counseling degree.
Have identified a supervisor through the school who will be overseeing the internship.
Be registered or certified as a counselor with the Department of Health, or have a written statement of exemption from the Department of Health. BHR will assist you in obtaining this credential, if needed.
Understand and adhere to state and federal confidentiality regulations and sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient information.
It is required that all Harvest Home staff declare understanding of and willingness to comply with the requirement that there be no misuse of alcohol or drugs during their internship.
Cannot have abused any chemical substances within one year that would in any way impair or limit ability to perform the duties of this internship.
Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State Driver's License and auto insurance.
Must pass a criminal background and Inspector General check.
Must comply with health screening requirements by undergoing a tuberculosis skin test.
TYPICAL DUTIES &
Perform casework as necessary for clients in accordance with abilities and job expectations, including referral to support services in the community and reporting of treatment attendance for those clients involved in the criminal justice system.
Complete all charting and related paperwork in a timely and accurate fashion including intake summaries, progress notes, treatment plan reviews and discharge summaries.
Take clients to appointments and follow up with referrals.
Communicate client needs to clinical staff and other providers when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
