Marketing Intern

Job description:

  • Assist BHR in telling stories of mental health recovery by transcribing an awards ceremony event and creating posts for the website and newsletter;

  • Improve BHR's website by adding programs;

  • Create content for monthly e-newsletter, to include interviews with board members, program directors and other notable content;

  • Add event photos to website and social media;

  • Create electronic and print communications for community outreach;

  • Other office duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting with event mailings and producing event-related materials.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn effective community outreach communication skills both online and in print;

  • Develop interview and writing skills;

  • Gain insights into the work of a community mental health provider and help tell its story;

  • Improve on or learn a variety of software programs, such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, Compass360; Microsoft Office Suite, Gimp (previous experience is great but not expected).

Minimum qualifications

  • A passion for learning about a local non-profit and community outreach;

  • A positive work attitude.
